TAX REFORM

Efforts to reform Georgia's property tax system via "The GREAT PLAN" and its successors failed to pass in the final hours of the 2008 General Assembly. While GAAO took no official position on the issues of reassessment caps and other provisions of this effort, we worked hard with ACCG, GMA, and others to make sure critical issues were included in the debate.  State leaders have vowed that this effort will continue into the 2009 General Assembly. Tax Reform is not dead; just on Lay-A-Way!
